The country is still coming to terms with the helicopter crash that claimed six lives in Nandi County. Among the victims was Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno. As memorial arrangements continue, sorrow has filled his Karen home.

His mother arrived at the residence ahead of a planned service to honour him and the others who died. Moments captured in photos show her visibly shaken. Grief was written on her face. She struggled to hold back tears.
She wore a white and blue dress. A black-and-white sweater covered her shoulders. A red bonnet rested on her head. She sat next to her daughter-in-law, Nayianoi Ntutu. The two held each other tightly. It was a quiet but powerful moment.
Nayianoi wrapped her arm around the elderly woman. She leaned in close. It was comfort without words. The image spoke of shared loss. One woman had lost her son. The other had lost her husband and the father of her two daughters.
Ng’eno died in the crash that happened at about 4:45 pm on February 28 in Mosop Constituency. He was 54 years old. His personal photographer and four others also perished. The tragedy shocked the nation.
Leaders and citizens have continued to send messages of sympathy. President William Ruto was among those who paid tribute. Many Kenyans have focused their prayers on the young family left behind.
The photo of the grieving mother has touched many online. Social media users expressed heartbreak and solidarity. Some described the scene as painful but deeply human.
Preparations for the memorial service are ongoing. Family, friends and political leaders are expected to attend. The home remains filled with visitors offering comfort.
Beyond politics, this is a story of family. It is about a mother’s pain. It is about a widow’s strength. It is about children who must now grow up without their father.
