“Bury Me in 48 Hours”: Tuju’s Chilling Warning Sparks Concern Over Safety and State Tensions

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has stirred national attention after issuing a deeply personal and unsettling directive about his burial. Speaking during a press briefing, Tuju revealed that he has already instructed his family to lay him to rest within 48 hours should he die, particularly under circumstances involving state agencies. His remarks come against the backdrop of ongoing legal and political friction surrounding his recent arrest.

Tuju insisted that he does not want any involvement from the government in his final rites. He stressed that his family is fully aware of his wishes and should act without delay. “When I die I want to be buried within 48 hours. I don’t want to see any state to be participating or be involved in my funeral,” he said. The statement has triggered widespread concern, with many questioning what may have prompted such a firm position.

In a striking tone, Tuju also spoke about his state of mind, suggesting he has come to terms with any possible outcome. “I’m mentally ready on any of the torture that anyone may want to visit on me,” he stated. He went further to add, “I’m ready for my death,” words that have since fueled speculation and debate across the political landscape.

He referenced past national figures to support his stance on quick burials, pointing to the late Raila Odinga and former military chief Francis Ogolla, noting how swiftly they were buried. His comparison appeared to reinforce his call for a prompt and private burial process.

Tuju also claimed he was mistreated after presenting himself to authorities. According to him, he was assaulted and briefly detained before being released. He dismissed reports that he had been hiding, explaining that he had moved to Kiambu after noticing individuals following him.

As investigations into his case continue, Tuju maintains that he has done nothing wrong. However, his latest remarks have shifted the conversation, raising serious concerns about personal security, political pressure, and the broader climate surrounding high-profile cases in the country.
