Fresh Political Storm: Nyamira Governor Nyaribo Faces New Impeachment Push Amid Corruption Probe

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo is facing a renewed impeachment attempt. MCAs have revived efforts to remove him from office. A special sitting of the Assembly introduced a fresh motion against him. The pressure on the governor is rising again.

Bonyamatuta Ward MCA Julius Kimwomi Matwere sponsored the motion. He accuses Nyaribo of abusing power and violating the Constitution. He wants the Assembly to act fast. According to him, the governor has failed to lead with integrity.

The timing is critical. EACC detectives recently raided Nyaribo’s homes and county offices. They are investigating a questionable Ksh382 million tender. The raid shocked the public and increased political tension. It gave his critics more reason to push for his removal.

Opposition MCAs argue that the scandal has stained the county’s image. They claim the governor has lost public trust. They believe Nyamira deserves better leadership. The impeachment supporters say accountability must come first.

However, Governor Nyaribo’s allies reject the accusations. They call the move political revenge. They insist he is focused on development projects. They say he should be allowed to defend himself before judgment is passed.

The County Assembly will decide what happens next. If a majority supports the motion, a special committee will launch a detailed investigation. A final vote will follow. The governor risks losing his job if two-thirds of MCAs find him guilty.

The situation remains tense and unpredictable. Nyamira residents are waiting for answers. The governor’s career is now on the line. The next steps will determine whether he survives or becomes the latest leader pushed out by scandal and politics.
