Gor Mahia’s prized striker Dan Sserunkuma has committed his future to the club saying he won’t leave the newly crowned league champions anytime soon.
The Ugandan striker’s future at the club has been the subject of speculation since his attempted move to Europe flopped midway through the just concluded season. His intended move to an Armenian club hit a dead end after Gor Mahia declined to release him.
The pint-sized striker would later return to the fold to help the club clinch its first league title in 18 years. Now Sserunkuma says his future lies with the league champions as he aims at establishing himself as one of the most potent strikers in the Kenyan Premier League.
“Gor Mahia is a great club and I am not thinking of going anywhere. Now that the season is over I intend to negotiate for a new contract,” Sserunkuma told the Daily nationon Wednesday.
Sserunkuma’s decision comes as good news to the club’s fans who took issue with the management when the player attempted to leave.
