At just 15 years old, Hadassah Precious was named Best Child Actress at the prestigious WIFA Awards. The recognition comes after years of hard work in film and television industry. Her father said she felt “on top of the world” when receiving the award. “The highlight,” he added, “was being presented the trophy by Charlene Ruto, the daughter of the President.”

Hadassah began acting at the age of three. She was inspired by her elder sister, Shekinah Angel, famously known as the “Mawowowo girl.” Over time, Hadassah moved from adverts to short films and then to local soap operas.
Early commercials included Backless, Colgate, Mkopa Solar, Safaricom and KRA tax. One of her most notable adverts was for Minute Maid, which took her and her mother, Princess Faridah, to Malaysia for a week-long shoot. The advert also aired across Africa, including South Africa.
Her television career grew steadily. She starred in Real House Helps of Kawangware, Njoro wa Uba and Single Kiasi. Her work in Single Kiasi, which she has been part of since 2022, earned her the WIFA nomination. Fans rallied behind her, with her father saying, “People went to vote for her in mass. This has boosted her confidence and her position in the film world.”
Hadassah has also appeared in short films like This Side of the Sun, Baba Twins and Bwana Chairman. Her father praised her teachers for supporting her during school hours. “Sometimes we get her out of school and we want to thank the teachers for being patient and acknowledging her gift,” he said.
Winning the WIFA award has been a turning point for Hadassah. It has boosted her confidence, elevated her profile and inspired her to continue pursuing her acting career. From adverts to award-winning performances, Hadassah Precious is emerging as one of Kenya’s brightest young talents, ready to take on bigger roles and more challenging projects in the years to come.
