Narok County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia has warned residents of Transmara about a fake cholera vaccination drive. Fraudsters posing as government health officers are reportedly moving from village to village offering false vaccines. Lotiatia said the scam puts lives at risk and urged locals to stay alert.

Speaking on Thursday, he revealed that some residents had already been approached by the fake medics. The suspects claimed to represent the Ministry of Health but had no identification or links to any official hospital. “These are conmen. No legitimate vaccination is happening outside health facilities,” he warned.
Lotiatia advised residents to be cautious. He urged them to verify anyone claiming to be a health worker before accepting any service. “Ask for identification. If they don’t have it, report them immediately,” he said.
He noted that the fake jabs could contain harmful substances. “The government”, he added, “has launched investigations to arrest those behind the scheme. Police officers and health officials are working together to track down the suspects.”
The Commissioner appealed to community leaders to help spread awareness. He also encouraged locals to report suspicious individuals to chiefs or the nearest police station. “We must protect each other. Quick reporting can save lives,” he said.
Lotiatia reminded residents that real vaccination campaigns are always publicized beforehand. They are conducted by trained health professionals in recognized hospitals and clinics. He assured the public that the government is committed to their safety and will not tolerate such dangerous fraud.
He further cautioned that scammers often take advantage of busy seasons and public gatherings. “Residents”, he said, “must stay vigilant during this period.Let us be alert and careful. Health is not something to gamble with,” Lotiatia emphasized.
He concluded by urging Narok residents to rely only on trusted health sources. “Be cautious, stay informed and protect your families,” he said.
