“Kenya Was My Favourite”; IShowSpeed Names Kenya the Highlight of His Africa Tour After Massive Fan Turnout

American YouTuber and Twitch star IShowSpeed has called Kenya the standout stop of his Africa tour. Darren Watkins Jr., known online as IShowSpeed, said he was “astonished” by the support he received in the country.

During a livestream after completing his continental tour, Speed reflected on his Kenya visit. “My visit to Kenya was just crazy. I couldn’t believe how many people came out for me. I think about 30,000 people showed up in the city just to watch me stream and be part of the experience. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many people before. Just to think that I could pull that many in Africa… I was astonished,” he said.

The high-energy streamer toured over 20 countries in 29 days. He began in Southern Africa, then moved through East and North Africa before concluding in West Africa. Each stop featured live streams and massive crowds. Yet, Kenya clearly left the strongest impression.

Speed arrived in Nairobi on January 11. He began his visit at Upper Hill School, interacting with students in a lively session. He later explored Nairobi’s iconic matatu culture, riding a custom convoy through the city. Thousands of fans followed on motorcycles, creating a vibrant procession. During the live stream, Speed also hit 48 million YouTube subscribers, gaining roughly 360,000 new followers.

On the second day, he traveled to the Maasai Mara. There, he enjoyed safaris and immersed himself in Maasai culture. He was even given a Maasai name, which he described as a “cultural highlight” of the trip.

Kenyans celebrated his remarks online, praising the country’s energy and hospitality. Fans wrote that Kenya showed Africa’s vibrancy and ability to host world-class experiences. Many said Speed’s visit felt like a festival for the city.

For IShowSpeed, Kenya was more than just a stop on his tour, it was the moment that exceeded his expectations. “I was astonished,” he repeated, highlighting how the city, culture, and fans made his Africa tour truly unforgettable.
