The feud between Juja MP George Koimburi and former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has taken a sharp turn. What began as political disagreement has now become a public standoff. Koimburi has threatened to reclaim furniture he says he personally donated to the Democracy for the Citizens Party, DCP.

Koimburi has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the party. He wants his property returned. If not, he says he will collect it himself. Speaking on Hot 96, the MP said the deadline was running out. He warned he could storm the party offices in Kiambu. As a result, the dispute has drawn wide attention.
At the same time, Koimburi has walked away from Gachagua. He accused the former deputy president of betrayal. He said Gachagua abandoned loyal allies. These were people who stood with him during his removal from the Kenya Kwanza government. Because of this, Koimburi said he could no longer support him.
The fallout has exposed deeper divisions in DCP. Koimburi is the latest senior figure to break ranks. Earlier, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba also distanced herself from the party leader. Consequently, doubts are growing about the party’s unity. This comes at a delicate time. DCP hopes to gain ground in Mt Kenya ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Koimburi insists the furniture is his. He says he bought it using personal funds. He also claims he delivered it himself. He warned that if the party ignores his demands, he will mobilise supporters. He said they would retrieve his belongings. This warning has raised fears of confrontation.
Koimburi and Gachagua were once close allies. Now they stand on opposite sides. The Juja MP says his fight is not personal. He calls it a national issue. He claims Gachagua betrayed Kenyans who believed in his message. He vowed to confront him daily until the election period.
Gachagua has rejected Koimburi’s claims. He says the MP was never a registered DCP member. He also says Koimburi avoided party activities for months. Meanwhile, DCP officials accuse Koimburi of working with President William Ruto. They claim he was sent to monitor the party. For now, the political drama continues to unfold.
