Is it time we invest more in our talents ? I guess every one would agree after seeing Kenya being put on the limelight after our sister Lupita Nyong’o made headlines in the world in winning an Oscar.
Is it time we embrace it ? Yes we should as so many talents are looking to make it in the arts industry but it’s not that easy. Gifted artist Kris Eeh Baba conveys the thoughts of “support talents” as he believes that talents do not have well put structures to push for support their ambitions.
We could agree with him as there is a very big space between the employed and the unemployed. This gap is created because most of us who are talented are always looking for the “white-collar job” which comes rarely in time. If we would rather go for employment in the arts industry by investing in it i guess this gap of unemployment could be bridged.
Kris Eeh Baba says :
Stayed all night watching stage performances from all over Africa. I think Kenya needs to invest more on their arts…both film and music at large. So much potential being lost because there are no structures to support the talent and ambitions of the gifted. Just the other day our film circle scored 5 awards in an African award ceremony….how much more can we hack when we have the financial Muscle…?
What say you ?
