The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has confirmed a fire at Lake Nakuru National Park. Flames spread from a nearby residential area, threatening parts of the park.

The blaze started around 4 pm on Friday. Flames moved from Lake View Estate into the Honeymoon Hill area. Strong winds and dry vegetation helped the fire spread quickly.Rangers acted fast. They were joined by the City Fire Team, Bondeni Police, and local residents. Together, they contained the fire by 10 pm.
No injuries or deaths were reported. KWS said no wildlife casualties have been confirmed. Rangers continue to monitor the area for flare-ups.Authorities warned that dry weather increases wildfire risks. Even a small fire can spread fast and cause severe damage.
