Mark Your Calendars: NPS Launches 2025 Police Constable Recruitment Across Kenya on November 17

The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the 2025 nationwide recruitment for Police Constables. Inspector General Douglas Kanja Kirocho confirmed the exercise will take place on Monday, November 17, 2025. It will run from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at designated centers across the country. All qualified Kenyans are encouraged to apply.

The recruitment follows a legal dispute between the NPS and the National Police Service Commission (NPSC). The High Court ruled the NPSC advertisement unconstitutional. The court affirmed that the NPS has the mandate to conduct the exercise. NPSC had initially scheduled the recruitment for October 3 to October 9. However, a temporary court order halted the process. The ruling now allows the NPS to proceed.

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 28. They should have a valid national ID and at least a D+ grade in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Candidates must have no criminal record or pending charges. Physical standards include a minimum height of 1.7 meters (5ft 8in) for males and 1.6 meters (5ft 3in) for females. Applicants must be physically and mentally fit. Female candidates must not be pregnant during recruitment or training.

National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those rated ‘Good’ in conduct during their service.

Inspector General Kirocho warned against bribery and corruption. He stressed that the recruitment is free, transparent, and open to all qualified Kenyans. He urged applicants to follow the rules. He assured that all eligible candidates will be considered fairly.

The exercise is a key opportunity for young Kenyans to join law enforcement. It seeks disciplined, capable, and committed individuals. Successful candidates will strengthen national security and public safety. Citizens are advised to prepare their documents and report to centers on November 17.
