Mugithi Star Wangari Wa Kabera Strongly Denies Stealing Nursery School Water Tank Ahead of Court Hearing

Veteran Mugithi singer Wangari Wa Kabera has denied stealing a water tank from a nursery school. The “No Nguka” hitmaker, whose real name is Florence Wangari Maina, spoke out on Saturday, January 17. Fans reacted with mixed views. She insists the claims are false and says she is innocent.

Wangari said the tank was found on a road near her home. It was never delivered to her property. She had no idea it was there until it was discovered outside her premises. The incident happened at night while she slept. Her phone was off and charging. She expressed frustration over the accusations.

According to Wangari, police visited to investigate. They confirmed the tank was on the road, not inside her fenced property. She noticed it looked dragged, not carried by a vehicle. The following morning, she saw the tank still outside. She reported the matter to the local chief’s husband. He said some people fled the scene, while others falsely claimed the tank was hers.

Wangari said she has never been involved in theft. “Since the day I was born, I have never stolen anyone’s property, nor have I ever purchased stolen goods,” she said. She added that she never requested the tank. Her gated property makes the accusations false.

The case has now gone to court. Wangari faces charges over alleged theft of government property worth KSh 60,000. She is set to appear on Friday, January 23. She pleaded not guilty. Wangari insists the tank never entered her property.

Fans remain divided. Some defend her, while others wait for the court ruling. As the case unfolds, the investigation will reveal more about the mysterious tank and how it ended up near her home.
