Kenya has won a major global deal. It will host Africa’s first Gulfood360. The event will be held in Nairobi from May 4 to May 6, 2027. This puts Kenya at the centre of Africa’s food and trade economy.

The announcement was made in Dubai. It came during Gulfood 2026. Kenya and the United Arab Emirates confirmed a new trade partnership. This deal is backed by the Kenya–UAE trade agreement. It now makes Kenya a key gateway for global food trade into Africa.
The decision carries strong economic value. Africa’s food market is growing fast. It is expected to reach over $567 billion by 2032. Nairobi will now link African farmers to global buyers. This will help boost exports and investment.
Several Kenyan ministries supported the bid. These include Trade, Agriculture, and Technology offices. They see Gulfood360 as a tool for growth. It will support value addition and job creation. It will also help small businesses reach new markets.
Kenya’s strong infrastructure helped secure the event. The country is upgrading its airport. It is also modernising the Port of Mombasa. New trade corridors are under development. These projects make transport faster and cheaper.
Clean energy is another advantage. More than 90 percent of Kenya’s power comes from renewable sources. This attracts global firms focused on green production. It also lowers costs for local industries.
Technology will take centre stage at the event. Digital payments will be on display. AI-powered farming tools will also be shown. Smart logistics and climate data systems will feature too.
Kenya will also promote continental trade. It sits at the heart of the African free trade area. This market serves over 1.4 billion people. Gulfood360 will connect them to the world.
