Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has stepped up efforts to mobilise support for President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election. He is firmly backing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as the vehicle for the campaign. His message is clear. There will be no turning back.

On Tuesday, Mudavadi met more than 200 supporters under the “Musalia Power House for Ruto” movement. The meeting focused on early mobilisation. It also aimed at strengthening grassroots networks. Supporters pledged loyalty to President Ruto’s re-election bid.
During the engagement, Mudavadi revisited his decision to dissolve the Amani National Congress. He said the move was deliberate. He said it was strategic. According to him, ANC had served its purpose. However, the future now lies elsewhere. “We chose strategy over shortcuts,” he told the delegates.
Mudavadi stressed that the decision was final. He ruled out any possibility of returning to his former party. He said leaders must look forward, not backward. He described UDA as his new political home. He urged his supporters to do the same.
He also addressed concerns raised by a court ruling that nullified the January 2025 merger between ANC and UDA. Mudavadi insisted the process followed the law. He said ANC was dissolved through legal and constitutional means. As a result, he said, his supporters are now fully inside UDA.
Beyond party loyalty, Mudavadi called for discipline and organisation. He urged members to register in large numbers. He said strong numbers build strong parties. He also encouraged active participation in national processes.
In particular, Mudavadi urged supporters to take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise. The process is being conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. He said voter registration is key to political success. Without numbers, he warned, parties lose influence.
Mudavadi also emphasised unity. He said internal divisions weaken political movements. He urged supporters to remain focused. He said the goal is victory in 2027.
As the next General Election slowly comes into view, Mudavadi appears determined. He is betting on early mobilisation. He is banking on unity. Above all, he is committing fully to UDA. For him, the path is set. There is no going back.
