Pastor Robert Burale is facing a public nightmare after a Nairobi court refused to take down a shocking interview by his ex-wife, Rozina Mwakideu. The video, titled “My Biggest Mistake Was Marrying Robert Burale,” was posted on October 4 on a YouTube channel run by Rozina’s brother, Alex Mwakideu. It has already been watched over 815,000 times.

Burale sued both Rozina and Alex for defamation and asked for Ksh. 20 million in damages. He said the video hurt his name and wanted it removed fast. But the court said no. The video will stay online.
Instead, Milimani Commercial Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzyoki gave an order stopping Rozina and Alex from sharing or posting the video again. The judge said the ban is only for future posts. It does not cover what is already online.
“An order for interim injunction is granted to stop the defendants (Alex and Rozina Mwakideu) from any further publication of the video on any social media platform while the case is being heard,” Magistrate Nzyoki said.
The court wants to stop the video from spreading more while the case goes on. It tries to protect both sides. Lawyers say such orders are common in defamation cases involving well-known people.
Lawyer Ochiel Dudley, who speaks for the Mwakideu siblings, told the court his clients will follow the order. Experts say Burale faces a setback, but the ban will stop more problems online until the court makes a full ruling.
The case has drawn wide attention because of Burale’s status and the video’s shocking claims. It shows how hard it is for public figures to control content once it goes viral. For now, the video stays online, keeping Burale in a very public nightmare.
The court will hear full arguments from both sides before giving a final decision. The ruling will decide if Burale gets money for damages and whether the video should be permanently blocked. Until then, the video can still be seen, but no new posts are allowed.
