Ruto to Mt Kenya Critics: “Judge Me by My Work,” Says Performance, Not Politics, Will Decide the 2027 Election

President William Ruto has dismissed claims that his support in Mt Kenya is fading. Speaking in Nyeri, he said his bond with the region remains strong. He insisted leadership is judged by results, not noise. According to him, performance will decide the 2027 General Election.

Ruto told residents that elections are won through policy and delivery. Not chants. Not intimidation. He challenged his critics to present ideas and plans. He said voters choose leaders based on work done, not slogans or crowds.

The president spoke as political activity intensifies in Mt Kenya. His former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, has stepped up opposition campaigns. Gachagua claims Ruto’s popularity dropped after their fallout. Ruto rejected the claim. He said no one person can destroy a relationship built over years.

Ruto framed the 2027 election as a test of his record. He reminded voters that Mt Kenya backed him in 2022. He said the region also set his agenda. Roads. Education. Agriculture. Healthcare. He promised to return and account for progress. He said the final judgment belongs to the people.

He also dismissed opposition slogans such as “Wantam” and “Kasongo must go.” He said slogans distract from real work. He warned that chants would not intimidate him. Instead, he urged leaders to focus on solutions.

Ruto revisited his fallout with Gachagua. He recalled his time as deputy president under Uhuru Kenyatta. He said he visited Mt Kenya often during that period. Those visits, he added, built trust and partnership. He insisted that bond cannot be broken by politics.

Meanwhile, signs of support emerged in Nyeri. Governor Mutahi Kahiga hosted Ruto at a church event in Othaya. Kahiga reaffirmed his UDA membership. He pledged cooperation with the national government.

Ruto urged residents to ignore political distractions. He asked them to focus on results. He said performance, not politics, will shape the 2027 outcome.
