Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has raised the alarm over rising political tension in Mbeere North ahead of next week’s by-election. He warned that any attempts to sponsor chaos or disrupt peace will be met with firm action. He insisted that the community must vote in a calm and secure environment.

Speaking during a campaign stop in Karambari, Kindiki accused unnamed opposition leaders of hiring troublemakers. He said they want to divide Embu and Mbeere residents for political gain. He called the move reckless and dangerous. He urged locals to avoid conflict and protect harmony.
The DP criticized those who previously held powerful positions in government. He said they had their chance to transform the constituency but failed. Now, he said, they are only loud and insulting. He reminded residents that leadership is proven by action, not shouting.
Kindiki asked voters to support UDA candidate Leonard Muriuki Wamuthende, widely known as Leo. He said Leo understands the needs of the people. He promised that electing him will allow development to continue smoothly.
The DP listed ongoing national projects in the area. He pointed to the tarmacking of key roads, including Saikago – Kanyuambora and Gukuyari – Muminji – Kirie – Ishiara. He said past administrations ignored these roads for decades. But President William Ruto’s government has prioritized them. He assured residents the works will not stall.
He also highlighted new markets funded by the government. Ishiara Market is nearly complete. Two more in Siakago and Karambari are expected to start soon. He said they will boost local trade and income.
Water supply upgrades are ongoing too. Projects in Kanyuambora and Nthawa aim to reduce water shortages. The DP said families will benefit directly.
Kindiki noted that electricity rollout has doubled. The government has invested KSh 500 million to ensure more homes receive power. He said access to electricity will drive economic growth.
Kindiki promised to remain in Mbeere North through the final vote. He said he is committed to safeguarding progress. He called on residents to choose leadership that brings results, not quarrels.
