Trump Urges Americans to Move On as Epstein Scandal Sparks UK Resignation, Congressional Hearings, and Royal Family Fallout

Former US President Donald Trump urged Americans on Tuesday to move past the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The controversy continues to make headlines across the Atlantic. New documents have prompted a British politician’s resignation. Bill and Hillary Clinton are preparing for congressional testimony.

Trump said he had been cleared by the files. “Nothing came out about me other than it was a conspiracy against me, literally, by Epstein and other people,” he said. He added that Americans should focus on issues like health care. He described the scandal as “not a Republican, it’s a Democrat problem,” referencing the Clintons.

In the UK, former British ambassador Peter Mandelson resigned from the House of Lords. Police opened a probe into “misconduct in public office.” Records show Mandelson allegedly passed confidential information to Epstein and received payments totaling $75,000 years earlier.

The US Justice Department released fresh Epstein documents last week. They revealed emails, financial transactions, and private images involving high-profile figures. Some victims’ names were left unredacted, prompting court action. A federal judge later confirmed privacy issues were resolved.

Trump commented on Mandelson’s resignation briefly. “I know who he is. It’s too bad,” he said. Bill and Hillary Clinton will testify on February 26 and 27. Neither the Clintons nor Trump face criminal charges in connection with Epstein.

The scandal has also involved the British royal family. Former Prince Andrew is under investigation. Documents show alleged trafficking and troubling images. Andrew denied wrongdoing but paid a multi-million-pound settlement to Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre. Sarah Ferguson also faced scrutiny over emails. Her charity has now closed.

The Epstein scandal continues to shake elites in politics and society. It has far-reaching consequences on both sides of the Atlantic. Governments and institutions are still grappling with the fallout.
