Two Suspects Arrested as Police Expose Elaborate KCSE 2025 Results Manipulation and Fake Grade Upgrading Scam

Kenyan authorities have arrested two suspects over a fake KCSE 2025 results scam. The operation targeted students and parents eager to improve grades. The case highlights rising online exam fraud.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspects are Albert Kerry Nyadianga and David Opiyo, also known as G.O.A.T. They promised to alter KCSE results for a fee. Opiyo, a primary school teacher, ran an online group called “KCSE 2025 Grade Upgrading”. The group had over 45,000 followers. It was central to attracting victims.

Investigators found Opiyo was active in other online forums promoting exam fraud. These included KNEC Legit Papers and Upgrading, Group Booster Support, KNEC/KASNEB/ICM/CDA, and KNEC Grade Editing. Authorities said these platforms created an illusion of legitimacy and convinced victims the scheme was real.

DCI officers worked with the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to arrest the suspects. Nyadianga was caught in Kisumu. Opiyo was cornered in Ongata Rongai. Searches of their phones revealed fake KCSE result slips. Other exam materials circulating online were also recovered.

The DCI warned the public to stay alert. Parents and students should avoid anyone claiming they can change exam grades. Officials said KCSE results are secure and cannot be altered.

Authorities stressed that anyone caught attempting fraud faces serious charges. The suspects remain in custody and will be arraigned in court. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full scope of the network.
