Police in Kisumu Central Sub-County have arrested two suspects linked to a string of burglaries in the upscale Milimani neighbourhood. Officers acted on a tip-off and intercepted the pair as they loaded stolen household items into a vehicle. Quick police action prevented their escape and allowed recovery of multiple goods.

Recovered items include a 65-inch television, assorted electronics, gym equipment, a CCTV camera, a cool box, a solar panel, a projector, and other personal belongings. Investigators linked the suspects to a previous break-in at the same residence. During that earlier theft, laptops, a gas cylinder, and dumbbell weights were reported missing. Police believe the suspects targeted high-end homes in a coordinated manner.
The suspects tried to flee when intercepted. Officers quickly apprehended them. The vehicle used in the burglary has been seized for further investigations. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements. They hope to trace more stolen items and uncover the full extent of the suspects’ activities.
The suspects are currently held at Kisumu Central Police Station. They are expected to be arraigned once investigations conclude. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and report suspicious activity immediately. Police say the tip-off and community cooperation were crucial in stopping the suspects and preventing further losses.
The arrests come amid rising concern over burglaries in high-end neighbourhoods. Milimani residents expressed relief at the swift police action. Many said the arrests restored a sense of security in the area. Police also announced increased patrols and other measures to curb crime.
Authorities continue to appeal for information about potential accomplices. They emphasized that residents’ vigilance and rapid police response remain key. The department reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring safety and security across Kisumu Central Sub-County.
