Bondo, Siaya County – Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Wednesday visited Bondo to condole with the family of the late Raila Odinga. He led a delegation of national and local leaders who came to honour the former Prime Minister’s legacy.

Mudavadi said the country still feels the void left by Raila. “We miss a statesman and a mentor to many,” he said. “His legacy of dignity, diligence and courage will continue to guide generations striving for a just and united Kenya.”
He offered condolences to Mama Ida Odinga and the family. “I deeply miss our warm exchange – “Mwana wa Hannah” and “Woud Mary” moments that reminded us of friendship, family and faith”, he added. Mudavadi prayed for God’s grace on the family and said Raila’s spirit will continue to inspire hope for Kenya.
The Prime CS also praised the leaders who came in solidarity. Their turnout, he said, showed unity and respect. Former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo was among the first dignitaries to arrive. He shared fond memories of Raila and expressed shock at his passing.
Mudavadi thanked Akufo-Addo for coming all the way from Ghana. “Your presence reminds us that true friendship knows no borders,” he said.
The delegation later visited Mama Ida at Opoda farm. They joined Bondo residents in celebrating Raila’s life and legacy. Those present included Speaker Moses Wetangula, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, former Attorney General Amos Wako, Governors James Orengo, Fernandes Barasa and Paul Otuoma, among others.
Mudavadi hailed the unity shown at the gathering. He said it was a testament to the respect Raila commanded across Kenya and beyond. “Raila may be gone, but his dream of a united prosperous Kenya will live on through us,” he affirmed.
