Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has praised President William Ruto’s government. He said it has restored economic stability and promoted development across the country. Speaking in Migori on Sunday, Mbadi highlighted how the administration resolved a cash crisis that had stalled salary payments and disrupted debt obligations. He said Kenyans are now witnessing real change.

Mbadi recalled the early days at the Treasury. “Last year, when I assumed office, sometimes we could not tell whether we would pay salaries or loans. That uncertainty even affected the shilling,” he said. He urged critics to acknowledge the progress. He added that the government has de-risked future loans, including one due in 2027. “Yet this economy had been run by others before. We have taken bold steps to stabilize it,” he said.
The CS credited President Ruto for the turnaround. He said the support from the Head of State allowed smooth operations and consistent payments. He stressed that the reforms were not just numbers but also about restoring confidence in the economy.
Mbadi also highlighted regional development. He cited the upgrade of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital from level five to level six. Its budget rose from Ksh.500 million to Ksh.3 billion. He described this as a major achievement for the Nyanza region. He added that Migori County would benefit from Ksh.2.3 billion worth of projects.
Appealing to the Luo community, Mbadi asked for support. He said Kenyans should recognize the government’s accomplishments. He argued that stabilizing the economy while investing in regional projects shows the administration’s commitment to growth and public welfare.
