Winnie Odinga Celebrates Youth Triumph as Boyd Were Wins Kasipul Parliamentary Seat

East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Winnie Odinga celebrated Boyd Were’s win in the Kasipul parliamentary by-election. The 27-year-old secured 16,819 votes. His closest rival, Philip Aroko, received 8,476 votes.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced the results at Agoro Sare High School. Supporters cheered loudly. ODM leaders, including Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma, joined the celebrations. Winnie Odinga praised the party for empowering young leaders.

“Boyd’s win is a huge victory for the youth,” Winnie said. She stressed that young people can lead and drive change. She also highlighted ODM’s commitment to supporting youthful leadership.

Were thanked voters for trusting him. He promised to serve the people of Kasipul diligently. He also said he would prioritize youth development projects. “I will ensure young voices are heard. I will deliver on development in all wards,” he said.
