Aftermath Of Jowie’s Arrest; Mammito And CEO Dida

A few hours after the sentencing of Joseph Irungu alias Jowie for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani back in 2018, social media was a buzz. Kenyans shared plenty on anything related to his case.

Kenyan comedian Mammito also joined in the conversation by sharing a short skit of her singing a song regarding Jowie’s sentence. It was supposed to be funny but many did not take it as a joke and found it dark and cruel.

Many celebrities as well were quick to condemn her in the comments of her video. Public figures like Don Nyachio, Carol Radul and Kalekye Mumo thought it was completely insensitive and wrong of her.

Mammito’s response quickly shut down critics. She went on to say that the only time people united despite their background was back in 2002 when they rallied against her. She went on to allude that in comparison to Jowie who is deemed as attractive, the public would pick his side instead of hers.

CEO DIDA The Brand has also caused an uproar after he posted a cryptic message regarding Jowie’s sentencing. According to Dida, Jowie was a scapegoat and was covering up for the real culprit.

“How much did it cost you to carry someone’s cross to your grave? They promised you they would get you out, confess the truth man. You can reapply this sentence.”

Dida’s Instagram account was later deactivated after the cryptic post.
