Henry Desagu is not just making a comeback—he’s rewriting his story! The popular comedian recently hosted an emotional gathering at his parents’ home, where close friends, public figures, and fans came together to uplift him.
Taking on his Facebook page, Desagu posted,” i have every reason to glorify God for a great event.” Among the key figures at the ceremony were, Hon. Elijah Njoroge Kururuia, popular Mugithi star Samidoh, Damaris Wa Dama Spares and comedian Sleepy David.
He expressed his gratitude for everyone who showed up and supported him with prayers and financial support.” Thanks for 1M support May God open new doors for me and change my Life for better.” Desagu wrote.
The Kenyan comedian and content creator, known for his sharp wit and relatable humor, has been a popular figure in the Kenyan entertainment scene for his comedic sketches and online presence. He was reported to be battling depression and alcholism which saw his fortunes subside. He was however later admitted at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Samidoh, HSC, Mofarm, Damaris Wa Dama Spares Original, Jose wa AutoEmpire, EDU wa Motor hub, John Cena, Dr murimi , Simon Kabu , Karangu Muraya, Dada Sarah Page, Dennis Itumbi, Hon Alice Ng’ang’a – MP Thika Town Constituency, Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, Hon Simon Nganga King’ara, Joe Nderitu, Engineer David were among those who came through for him.
“We will not watch as this great boychild, Henry DeSagu, whose comedy brings laughter to all of us, is brought down by depression and alcoholism. We will pray for his recovery, have him get quality medical attention and get our lively Desagu back,” MP for Gatundu South posted on his socials during the Launch of the fundraiser.
During the occassion on 11th March, Desagu opened out about his mental Health struggles. “I was sick, and it was something serious. I want to let the youth know that depression is real. One thing I have learned from all this is that when life gets hard, and the stress is high, just talk to somebody. I used to stay quiet and keep my problems to myself,” DeSagu shared.
At a time when many struggle in silence, Desagu’s openness about his journey serves as an inspiration—reminding everyone that no matter how tough life gets, faith and strong relationships can pave the way for a brighter future.
