In every revolt, there rises a hero. The Gen-z Kenyan revolution is not exempt. Kasmuel Mcoure being on the media forefront eloquently and articulately arguing the revolution to the masses.

The protests that began as an online thought before manifesting to the different streets across the country due to the finance bill 2024, has received global attention and will go down in history. Generation X and boomers have taken a step back and are supporting and criticising the new generation from the sidelines.

What started as trolling directed towards Kasmuel became his signature brand. Kenyans on X labelled Kasmuel needy for media attention and always seeking his minutes of fame. The artist did not dispute the claims but rather embraced the limelight and dominated it while at it.

Mcoure has made headlines with his statements that are straight to the point yet hold weight. Quoting some of the greats in history. When asked by a caller on radio about the  protestors breaching Parliament.

Kasmuel has made a spectacle of Nairobi Woman Representative, Esther Passaris and Citizen TV’s news Anchor, Olive Burrows. He has also been on the panel with other young activists like Mercy Taurus and Wanjiru Wanjira and Law Society of Kenya President, Faith Odhiambo.

Kenyans have tagged him as a reincarnation of the late freedom fighter Tom Mboya pointing out their resemblance in eloquence and elegance. Even with his taste of music and artistry in Jazz, his brand remains constant, attached to the classic ensemble with his sharp three piece suits and well done afro.

Behind the man however lies a dark past and unresolved trauma. Kasmuel has been open about his struggle with mental health that led to him contemplating suicide before his involvement with the protests.

Kaskazini, his stage name, has also impacted the Kenyan real estate industry with property developers and investors taking interest with his strong public presence and his ability to influence trends in the artist turned activist. Marking a shift towards more dynamic and progressive property developments.

Kasmuel has declared his interest to venture into politics come the next general elections. Between now and then, he intends in using available platforms to articulately argue the issue

s of the revolution.
