Crazy Kennar Responds To Critics Downplaying His Stand-Up Comedy

Stand-up comedy in Kenya took a big hit during the Covid-19 period back in 2020. Most stand-up comedians were used to performing in front of live audiences in shows like Churchill Show which was a major success back then.

Covid-19 however was what most stand-up comedians needed. During this period, most of them built a fan base on their social media platforms by creating comical content. This saw the rise of many comedians.

Crazy Kennar is a product of the 2020 lockdown experience. He built his fan base by creating comical skits and posting them across his social media platforms. He is known for his witty yet relatable content.

Since then, Kennar has immersed a lot of wealth from his content creation, built his own team which he initially split and he had to get a whole new team, and has gotten opportunities like traveling to work with Meta.

Kennar like most Kenyan comedians lately has opted to expand his brand. Recently, he announced that he was going to have his own stand-up comedy show dubbed, Happy Country. The show is set to happen at the KICC.

This brought mixed reactions from Kenyans online. Most of them doubt his capability to perform a stand-up comedy. These reactions prompted the comedian to respond to the critics of his upcoming show.

“I have been asked this question many times. All I can say is that I am a master of all genres of comedy. Come witness on the 16th of December.”

Kenyan celebrities like Jalang’o, Carol Radul, and MC Jessy have joined the conversation in support of Kennar. Wishing him success and cheering him on, urging him to avoid the distractions and noise from naysayers and focus on his upcoming show.
