Burna Boy Set To Perform at the 2024 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards have been making adjustments ever since last year. They have added new categories which has allowed African music to receive global recognition. With genres like Bong and Genge Tone being eligible for a nomination.

The Grammys have also announced that amongst the performance lineup, Africa will be represented by one of the most celebrated artists during the upcoming annual Grammys for 2024 by Burna Boy.

The award season of 2024 began on a high note at the Golden Globes and Emmy with African talent receiving awards. With the Grammys inching closer, some new arrangements have been made including the performance lineup.

The Last Last artist will be joining the previously announced performance lineup of Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, and Olivia Rodrigo. Also added to the performance lineup include Travis Scott and Luke Combs.

This year, the brand new category Best African Music Performance will mark the first-ever category at the Grammys exclusively to celebrate African musical talents. This year, the nominees all represent one country.

The nominees of the inaugural Best African Music Performance award are; Amapiano by Asake and Olamide, City Boys by Burna Boy, Unavailable by Davido featuring Musa Keys, Rush by Aura Starr, and Water by Tyla.
