Christian Musician Timothy Kitui Makes History Globally

A celebrated Kenyan Gospel Artist and educationist Dr. Timothy Kitui has been appointed as a talent envoy for the world federation of the Gifted and talented children. He becomes the first musician/artist in Africa to be appointed as a talent ambassador.

The artist who sings his songs predominantly in luhya goes by the brand “Litungu Gospel Vibes” – a brand that is anchored on his traditional harp commonly known as ‘Litungu’ a Luhya traditional instrument, is also the lead pastor at JCC Thika. His success in music has not only had him perform in many countries in Europe, in the USA and UAE, but has also seen him get nominated and bag awards such as;

Dr. Timothy Kitui is currently in the US preparing to do his first presentation

Alongside other delegates from different continents, Pst. Timothy Kitui will be making a presentation on TRADITIONAL MUSIC AND INTER-STATE TRUST BUILDING BETWEEN KENYA AND THE USA. “For the first time I have found the intersection between my education, career, talent and ministry” Dr. Kitui said

Dr. Kitui was proposed to the World Federation of the Gifted and talented Children by Prof. Humphrey Oborah citing Dr. Kitui’s academic contribution, success in exporting traditional music to the world and introducing gifted education in a primary school in Kenya ahead of the arrival of CBC

Dr. Kitui Timothy is expected to push Africa’s agenda for gifted education on the global stage. The artist who also holds a PhD in diplomacy and international relations, a masters degree in diplomacy and international relations (MMUST) and a BSc. Degree in disaster management and international diplomacy (MMUST) is also a candidate for a second PhD at Kenyatta University.

Dr. Kitui quit his job as a lecturer at the Kenya Methodist University to start a primary school for the Catholic sisters in Nairobi’s westlands. He says, this gave him an opportunity to practice his philosophy that “each child is an individual, all children are creative and all children need to succeed”. This did not only boost the learners’ morale, but also helped teachers understand that each child is different and discover that arithmetic, linguistic and soft skills can be taught through performing arts and sports.

The litungu gospel vibes artist, discovered and proved the intersection of culture, diplomacy, gift, talent and education. He is the entrepreneur behind Homeorama Smart School, Afrecords studios and the Chair of the Cultural and Gospel Music Expo – and organization that brings together gospel artists and cultural exhibitioners to share and export their culture
