Californian-based comedian, Elsa Majimbo finally explained to her millions of followers the state of her relationship with British supermodel, Naomi Campbell. In a video she posted on TikTok, the comedian narrates how they became friends and the impact of their fallout on her career.
Elsa explains that she reached out to Naomi Campbell through Instagram when Naomi was in Kenya. The two met and went on holiday together. According to Elsa, Naomi told others that she was the reason behind Elsa’s fame.
The comedian said that in March 2022, Naomi called her after they were not in contact. She was furious with the premiere of Elsa’s documentary at the Tribeka Film Festival.
Majimbo claims that Naomi had suggested that she do a documentary which she had not agreed to. The supermodel then threatened to sue the comedian for the rights to the documentary on Elsa.
Despite efforts by Elsa to reach out to Naomi and apologize, they still had a fallout. This led to serious trouble for Elsa in her career as she tried to break into the Hollywood space. Elsa claims some celebrities would avoid her due to her fallout with Naomi.
Elsa then shared that her relationship with Naomi became toxic at the start of 2023 after they sorted out their issues. The comedian claims she would inform the supermodel about everything she did to avoid having a repeat of what happened the last time.
The Kenyan comedian acknowledges that Naomi did play a pivotal role in her career however points out that the two are not friends or enemies. She then went on X (formerly Twitter) and said she had made peace with the future of her career and did not want to be controlled.
Elsa went on to add that she concluded that no amount of money or job was worth the trauma or embarrassment. She added she was ready to heal after Naomi made her depressed and full-blown alcoholic.
