Nairobi, July 10, 2024 — The judiciary and legal fraternity in Kenya are mourning the loss of High Court Judge Justice David Majanja, who passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at a hospital in Nairobi.
Preliminary reports indicate that Justice Majanja had been admitted to the hospital for surgery. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the legal community, where he was highly respected for his judicial acumen and dedication to justice.
Justice Majanja was appointed as a Judge of the High Court in 2011 and was currently serving at the Milimani Civil Division. Throughout his distinguished career, he held several key positions, including Chairperson of the Human Resource Management Committee. He was also a member of the Audit, Governance and Risk Management Committee and the Learning and Development Committee, contributing significantly to the administration and improvement of the judiciary.
Justice Majanja’s academic credentials include a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi. His contributions to the legal field have left an indelible mark, and he will be remembered for his commitment to upholding the rule of law and justice in Kenya.
