The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Mt. Kenya West Diocese has suspended five of its clergymen accused of engaging in homosexuality.
The suspension comes after a young man came forth to confess of being lured to engage in the act by the clergy which probed further investigations into the allegations.
The suspension of the five clergymen of whom four are married with children was followed by the evidence presented to the church committee where the five were found guilty of engaging in the unlawful act with some of the members of church.
The Diocese Head Bishop Joseph Kagunda noted that in the cause of the investigations the clergymen of the four mentioned, had some of them confess their involvement in the practice while other opted for full trial.
Bishop Kagunda stated that no names would be revealed as they had the right to appeal, repent and reform.
The Bishop also pointed out that none of the members who engaged in the act were minors.
However, it must be noted that the Anglican Church of Kenya and particularly the Diocese is totally against any kind of gay practice and marriage,” said the Bishop.
