1. SAFARI [1]

(Written By Adawnage Band)

SAFARI…HII SAFARI NI NDEFU

SAFARI…HII SAFARI NI NGUMU

SAFARI, SAFARI…OOH OOH

SAFARI, SI TU SAFARINI

JASHO LANITOKA, MIZIGO YANICHOSHA

LAKINI N’TATOBOA, NIPATE TAJI LANGU

SAFARI [1] is a mellow tune that introduces the listener to our intention and also offers an encouragement that although the journey may be long and full of challenges, there is a title at the end.

“Whoever wants to follow Me must deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me.”

SAFARI [2]

(Written By Adawnage Band & Dominic Khaemba)

NIKO SAFARINI KAZA MWENDO (MI NAKAZA MWENDO)

NAJIKAZA KABISA (AAH AAH)

NIKO SAFARINI NAKAZA MWENDO (MI NAKAZA MWENDO)

NIPATE TAJI LA MAISHA (AAH AAH)

TAJI LA MAISHA

VOOM VOOM VOOM VOOM….

SAFARI YETU KAKATIZWA TUKAKWAMA NJIANI

LAKINI BADO TUNASONGA, SONGA MBELE

SAFARI IMEANZA TWENDE, TWENDE, TWENDE

SHIDA, SHIDA, MATATIZO NA MASHIMO NJIANI

LAKINI KAGUNDUA MWENDO NI ASTEASTE

SAFARI IMEANZA TWENDE, TWENDE, TWENDE

VOOM VOOM VOOM VOOM….

SAFARI [2] is a Benga sequel of SAFARIi [1] that was inspired by the number of huddles we faced, literally, while making our numerous trips to Nyeri to record our SAFARI Album. At some point we had multiple punctures and the same is reflected in this ‘Journey of Faith’. We face ‘potholes’ and occasionally need to ‘refuel’ in order to get to our destined place.

”…forgetting what is behind and pressing on towards the mark.”

YOU BETTER PRAY DAILY, DAILY, KESHO WEWE USISAHAU

USISAHAU is an Afro-rock song sensitizing our listeners to observe what is happening in our world, our society and our families today, that we may not forget how far and from where God has brought us.

6. LET ME LIVE

(Written By Roselyn Mwihaki)

WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT YOUR GRACE?

WHERE WOULD GO WITHOUT YOUR PACE?

I’M LOOKING BACK AT WHERE I HAVE COME FROM

LORD, I KNOW YOU’VE BROUGHT ME THROUGH

I’VE MADE UP MY MIND TO LET YOU KNOW

I JUST CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE

TOMORROW MAY NOT BE MEANT FOR ME

SO HERE IS WHAT I’VE KEPT FROM YOU

BITTERNESS IS WITHIN ME, WEAKNESSES IS WHAT I HIDE

LONELINESS IS CROWDING ME, OH MY GOD WHY CAN’T YOU SEE?

ALL THIS PAIN IS DROWNING ME, AND MY PAST IS HAUNTING ME

COULD YOU SET ME FREE I PRAY AND LET ME LIVE, LET ME LIVE

LET ME LIVE is a lamentation to God, acknowledging His divine working in our lives, but being real enough to cry before Him when faced with tests and when we pass through the fire and the storms that rage against us.

“Breathe on me new life, Lord, and let me live.”

7. TURN US

(Written By Robert Njuguna)

TURN US AGAIN TO YOURSELF OH GOD

MAKE YOUR FACE SHINE DOWN UPON US OH GOD

ONLY THEN CAN WE BE SAVED

ONLY THEN WILL WE BE SAVED

LET YOUR GLORY FALL

LET YOUR SPIRIT MOVE, LORD, IN OUR MIDST

AS WE TURN OURSELVES TO YOU OH LORD

If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.

8. TRUE LOVE

(Written By David Ogara)

MY HEART IS SEARCHING FOR LOVE THAT’S GREATER

THAN WHAT I’VE SEEN THIS WORLD OFFER ME

MY HEART IS SEARCHING FOR LOVE THAT’S DEEPER THAN

EVERY OCEAN, EVERY SEA

I WANT TO KNOW THE BEAUTY OF LOVE, SO TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE

I WANT TO KNOW THE JOY THAT IT BRINGS

I WANT A LOVE THAT’S PURE AND INNOCENT

I WANT A LOVE THAT’S VAST AS THE UNIVERSE

I WANT A LOVE THAT SPRINGS FROM DEEP WITHIN

MY HEART IS SEARCHING FOR LOVE

MY HEART IS DESPERATE FOR LOVE NEVER ENDING

LOVE THAT WILL NEVER DIE, NEVER FADE AWAY

MY HEART IS SEARCHING FOR LOVE THAT’S SWEETER THAN

THE SOUNDS OF HEAVEN’S VOICES KISSING MY EARS

NOW MY HEART HAS FOUND THE BEAUTY OF LOVE

MY HEART HAS KNOWN THE JOY THAT IT BRINGS

I’VE FOUND A LOVE THAT’S PURE AND INNOCENT

I’VE FOUND A LOVE THAT’S VAST AS THE UNIVERSE

I’VE FOUND A LOVE THAT SPRINGS FROM DEEP WITHIN

MY HEART HAS FOUND TRUE LOVE

NIMEPATA…

What I was searching for i.e. God’s true love, I have found it and my heart is now at rest.

9. ILETE BARAKA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQbwCdf2HTQ

(Written By David Ogara)

LIFT YOUR EYES AND SEE THE RISING SUN

OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THIS SMILE I BEAR

OPEN YOUR HEART AND FEEL THIS LOVE I HAVE FOR YOU

COZ I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU

LOVE IS ALL WE NEED, YEAH, LOVE IS ALL WE NEED

SO LOVE ME NOW, LOVE ME AS YOUR BROTHER

LOVE ME AS YOUR SISTER

LOVE ME NOW, LOVE ME NOW, LOVE ME NOW

THIS IS AN ECHO RESOUNDING FROM OUR HEARTS

WE’RE PRAYING NOW ON BEHALF OF OUR NATION

OH GOD OF ALL CREATION, WE ASK YOU TO COME

COME AND BLESS THIS LAND

ILETE BARAKA, ILETE UPENDO

ILETE AMANI KWETU WEEEH

KWETU WEEEH

ILETE BARAKA is a prayer song drawn from the 2nd line of the 1st Verse of our National Anthem, asking God to bless us and our land.
