Nation Media Group Staff To Lose Jobs As They Shut Down QFM And Nation FM.

Nairobi

Nation Media Group employees are facing the possibility of losing their jobs, after Nation Media Group announced today that it will be merging two of its TV Stations into one. They will also be scaling down on two of their traditional radio stations in Kenya. Nation FM is also set to be shut down.

Through a press release headlined Transforming for a Stronger Future Nation Media Group Embarks On Implementing A New Strategic Direction, the top media group has revealed that this move will result in the loss of jobs for some of the staff. However they say that they give all support necessary within Kenyan laws to the transitioning employees.

“Regrettably this will result in a reduction of our workforce through job redundancies,” Nation said, noting the changes are effective June 30.

“We will strive to provide all the necessary support to help them manage through this transition.”
