US Presidential Candidate Ben Carson Reveals He’s From Turkana

Dr. Ben Carson, candidate for Republican nomination, says he’s descended from Turkana people of Kenya and Tanzania.

“I have had my roots traced back all the way from my great, great grand father who came from the Turkana tribe which is a migratory tribe even today in Tanzania and Kenya.”

Carson was addressing a forum on human trafficking and slavery in the United States.

The soft-spoken 63-year-old, an African-American who only officially became a Republican last year, has found an opening in the wide-open race in which 13 candidates are running for the White House.
