Kenyan artist Willy Paul has been trending for the past two days. It started when a video surfaced of numerous police cars were seen parked outside his house. This was followed by a cryptic post from the artist.
According to Willy Paul, there were some men in uniforms parading as police officers. He claimed that they were there to kill him and were accusing him of a hit and run. He added that this was the second time such an incident was happenings to him.
Earlier today however, a new revelation to why police officers were outside the artists home was shared by Diana Marua’s lawyer, Caroline Giseve. Speaking to the press, the lawyer share the reason why Willy Paul was arrested yesterday.
According to Caroline Giseve, Willy Paul was arrested for cyberbullying the artist Diana Marua back in 2021. The lawyer added that Willy Paul had been summoned several times before but never showed up.
She clarified the reason for the longevity between the date the complaint was filed and the day of his arrest was because of investigations that were taking place. According to the lawyer, the investigations were complete and they got a green light for his arrest.
Willy Paul and Bahati have been termed as rivals ever since the beginning of the careers when the two were both termed as gospel artists. Back in 2021, Willy Paul claimed that he had been in a relationship with Diana, Bahati’s wife before the two got married.
Content created, Diana however denied ever being in a romantic relationship with Willy Paul and retaliate by accusing the artist of sexual assault. Diana however had to take the video down after a court order. This was after Willy Paul took legal actions accusing Diana of defamation.
Willy Paul is set to appear in court today to answer to the charges.
