According to detectives, the boy was left at home under the care of his grandmother and sister while his mother attended a family gathering. Shortly after leaving, the family received a chilling phone call from a man who claimed responsibility for the abduction and demanded money for the child’s release.
The case quickly escalated into a police operation after the matter was reported. Officers tracked and arrested two suspects aged 32 and 75 in separate locations within Kiambu County. The first suspect was picked up in Ruiru before leading investigators to the second suspect in Githunguri.
In a shocking turn, detectives later discovered the boy’s body hidden inside a manila bag on the rooftop of a house linked to one of the suspects. The body was taken to Mukoe Funeral Home for postmortem as police continued with investigations.
“The search resulted in the discovery of the body concealed in a manila bag,” police confirmed, as they revealed that leads from the suspects helped uncover the grim scene.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said both suspects are in custody and have been granted 10 days to allow further investigations. Authorities have condemned the incident, vowing to pursue justice for the young victim.
Residents have expressed anger and fear, calling for tougher action against rising cases of child abductions and violent crime in the area. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading to the killing.
